ITINERARY:
This Ayer Rock (Uluru) overnight escape is an introduction to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, guests will sleep in permanent safari tents protected by the elements. Finishes in Yulara / Ayers Rock on day 2 of the trip.
Embark on a thrilling small group adventure, offering an unforgettable introduction to the captivating Red Centre. Over the course of two days, immerse yourself in the natural wonders of two iconic locations, Uluru and Kata Tjuta, thoughtfully combined into one extraordinary tour. As you journey through the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987, your expert local guide will share insightful commentary, intriguing stories, and hidden gems, breathing life into the Red Centre's secrets. We have comfortable twin permanent safari tents providing a little more comfort, privacy, and security, or you can try out a traditional swag experience (canvas-covered bedroll).
Day 1: Ayers Rock Airport to Uluru / Ayers Rock
Departing from Ayers Rock/Yulara (Uluru Airport) we join the tour group in Uluru before we head to the Red Centre’s indigenous interpretive cultural centre where we have a chance to learn about the cultural, ecological, historical and geological significance of this very special national park. Get up close and personal with Uluru, the colossal monolith, as you embark on a base walk to the Mutitjulu waterhole, discovering sacred rock art sites and ancient creation stories. Explore the remarkable Kantju Gorge, home to Central Australia's highest waterfall and an elders' cave, ending your day with a mesmerizing sunset at Uluru lookout, accompanied by a hearty dinner.

Day 2: Uluru National Park to Kata Tjuta
Rise early and savor a light breakfast as you venture towards a captivating sunrise in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Witness the majestic silhouette of Kata Tjuta, a remarkable sight to behold. Embark on an invigorating hike through the awe-inspiring Valley of the Winds or Walpa Gorge, marveling at the mighty conglomerate rock formations. Conclude your exploration of Kata Tjuta, and head back to Yulara Airport to either meet your adjoining flight (or feel free to add an additional nights stay at our safari camp for an extra $100 p.p.) Estimated drop-off time around mid-day.

WHAT TO BRING:
2L Refillable water bottle, wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses & sunscreen, swimwear, beach towels & toiletries, comfortable sturdy hiking shoes (tread closed-toe shoes), all-weather clothing (extreme conditions inc wind, heat, cold, day/night), 15kg soft bag & small day pack, tropical strength insect repellent, mosquito or fly net (summer months), flashlight, headlamp or torch, and camera, money for snacks and meals, bring your own sleeping bag & pillow (optional - if staying in a swag), recharge power bank (limited access to power to charge phone or cameras)
CHILD POLICY:
Children aged between 8 to 17 years old must be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian at all times. Not suitable for infants or children 7 years and under. Not suitable for infants or children 7 years and under, due to safety requirements and the level of fitness required to complete the walks.
WEATHER:
The weather in the Red Centre can fluctuate and be extreme. It is not unheard of for temperatures to reach over 50+ degrees Celsius in the dry season and in the evening the temperature drops dramatically. Please ensure you have checked the average temperatures for the time of year you are travelling and have packed adequate clothing. In the event of rain or inclement weather, your experience will still go ahead, unless contacted by the provider. We are committed to delivering an unforgettable adventure, rain or shine, and will make necessary adjustments to ensure your safety and enjoyment throughout the journey.
THINGS TO KNOW:
- Mandatory passenger details are required at the time of booking: each passenger’s first name and surname / each passenger’s date of birth / arrival and departure point and flight number details ie. AYQ / QF728 12:35 (01/04/23) / lead passenger’s contact phone number (international or Australian)
- While we endeavour to cater to most dietary needs, passengers must advise dietary requirements to their booking agent at the time of booking. As we are venturing to remote areas we are very limited in what we can source once the tour departs, therefore prior notice is required.
- The tour operator must be notified of any known medical conditions at the time of booking to assist in our guiding and ensuring the health and safety of all guests throughout the tour.
- A minimum moderate to advanced level of fitness is required to complete the walks. The length of walks will be between 2km to 3km each day, often over steep rocky sections and in direct sunlight and high humidity. An approximate 4-8km walk is included in this tour. Embarking on walks will be at the guide’s discretion to ensure the safety of guests. Therefore a medium/high level of fitness is required and a doctors certificate is required for people over 70 years (30 days prior to travel).

- Limited storage space on our vehicle, baggage kept to 1 x 15kg travel bag, 1 x 5kg day bag.
- This tour is not suitable for mobility-impaired travellers, wheelchairs, walkers or strollers.
- Itineraries may vary to adapt to seasonal changes and occasionally sites in the parks close or do not allow swimming. As safety is our top priority we plan accordingly to ensure our guests have the most fun and best experience possible while on tour.
- Guests are asked to participate in the preparation of meals, clean up and vehicle unpacking/loading, so everyone can relax together after a long day touring. It’s also a great way to get to know and connect with your fellow travellers.
